About

CERTIFICATIONS:
I enjoy teaching fitness to those who are willing. Being fit and healthy creates a better quality of life.

There is not one size fits all fitness program, so finding what works for each individual can be challenging, but very doable. For example, my experience in training students of fitness include; individuals and groups, of many different fitness levels, such as prenatal and postnatal, Seniors, Youth, Multiple Sclerosis, wheel chair bound, recovering heart surgery patients, and knee, hip or shoulder replacement as well as advanced athletes.

MY STORY: Being interested in fitness most of my life, I ran and weight trained off an on over the years. I tried home workout videos of all sorts, and in home cardio machines too. As life got busy with my family, I became inconsistent with my exercise program and started to gain weight. When I started having pain in my legs while walking, I knew I had to make some changes. On my 40th birthday, my husband bought us a gym membership that came with 4 personal training sessions. After our first training session, we could hardly walk the next day. I couldn't believe how out of shape I was and my trainer told me that I was clinically obese, even though I only weighed 131lbs.

I purchased more sessions to get rid of my condition and to figure out what I was supposed to do in the gym. As I did everything the trainer told me to do, I lost 13 lbs. With my results, I decided that I could become a trainer and help other people get fit and healthy too. So I went to work on my plan by studying for my personal trainer certification, and training with a seasoned trainer so I could put my book knowledge to practice. I earned my Personal Training Certificate with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in 2005 and in 2007 earned the NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist Certificate.

In 2010, I thought I was doing everything right and getting really fit, until a trainer at the gyms pulled me aside and asked if I new what a kettlebell was? No I didn't so he proceeded to show me. I was amazed at how it challenged my fit level. I had never felt any thing like it. I had to learn this kettlebell thing. He was hired! He taught me the kettlebell skill and prepared me for my first kettlebell certification of HKC, Hard Style Kettlebell Challenge. I continued to train to prepare for the RKC, Russian Kettlebell Challenge certificate which I finally earned in 2011. In 2013 earned my StrongFirst Girya kettlebell certification which is a re-certification at the same level as the RKC. I am currently certified SFG I through 2019 and am working on SFGII.

I have to say that I have reach a higher fitness level using the kettlebell verses traditional weight training and cardio machines. In fact, I never get on a cardio machine if I can help it, and I rarely do traditional weight training. The kettlebell gets me fit faster, and I am stronger with more energy and better recovery. I am not a walking sore person anymore. In fact, I can work my whole body including cardio within 45 minutes or on my busy days I do 20min and still see amazing results.

I have many family obligations that keep me busy but I still make time for regular exercise and healthy living. I workout with my kettlebells up to 4 to 6 days a week, and I get my strength, flexibility, core, and cardio in just a few moves. The kettlebell is truly an amazing hand held gym with a lot of bang for its buck. For instance, only a small area of about 5X5 square foot is needed for a workout, using no special shoes or none at all. Plus, it hardly takes up any storage space and it is very portable, and I have even taken mine on vacations.

I Challenge You to learn the Kettlebell skill and feel the difference!
KEEP STRONG and KETTLEBELL ON!
